Coming from Hughes Aircraft back in 1979, company founder David Cianciulli was well equipped to start a company that was capable of handling the demanding manufacturing requirements for military applications. Proof of Amphenol DC Electronics’ capabilities came during the first Gulf War when soldiers in the field found themselves in desperate need of more handheld GPS devices. Trimble, the military’s GPS supplier, called ADCE for help. Literally overnight, ADCE ramped up production to supply Trimble with cables to meet a seemingly impossible demand.
